The Beloved Artist - A Soul Care Retreat

The retreat will be a blend of talks, discussion time, group spiritual practices, and personal reflection. Retreat topics include the following:

  • Understanding love as the animating source of our identity as well the foundation and substance of our life as artists and people of faith.

  • Identifying cultural paradigms that diminish our creative lives, creating shame and “shoulds.”

  • Cultivating countercultural paths and practices to encourage spiritual and artistic flourishing.

This retreat is led and facilitated by Judith Hougen. Judith is a creative writer and former writing professor whose publications include The Second Thing I Remember (poetry) and Transformed into Fire: Discovering your True Identity as God’s Beloved (Christian living). She enjoys leading retreats and workshops on spiritual formation, the craft of writing, and the integration of faith, art, and culture. Judy has been the instructor for a number of writing workshops with Art House North and has been involved with AHN events, such as The Artist Respond Series, etc. for many years.

Friday, March 7: 7:00-9:30 pm and

Saturday, March 8: 9:30 am-3:30 pm (participants can bring a lunch or purchase one nearby)

Cost: $90

Group size is limited to 16 spots. A waitlist may be implemented by emailing contactarthousenorth@gmail.com (first come, first served).

Cancellation Policy: Full refund available if requested at least one full week before the retreat. Partial refunds available up to three days before the retreat.
