Beautiful Story Beautiful Story by Dwight Colbaugh

If you love beautiful hymns and gospel songs, you will love this record. It was my greatest pleasure to capture this record with my mom and dad, and it is the answer to the often asked question, "Who inspired you as a songwriter?" The songs are classics, but the delivery is unique to Dwight and Nancy, and is what I grew up hearing. My father is the real singer in the family, and taught me through example how to communicate, not just the lyrics, but the heart of a song. My mom's love for the piano took hold of me at an early age, as we fought for time in the 'piano room' at home. You can purchase this record here on our website.

Frame the CloudsFrame The Clouds by Christa Wells

Wow, just wow. Troy walked in with this CD in his hand the other night, and just reiterated, "This is a great record!" We have said it before, but we took another ten minutes to talk about different songs we like. Christa is an amazing writer, and gave me the much appreciated lyrical heart of the song Twice as Good.

Downtown ChurchDowntown Church by Patty Griffin

In the virtual world of digital downloads, I ran to the store to get my copy of this record, and it has been on in my kitchen ever since. If you love Emmy Lou, Buddy and Julie Miller, Mindy Smith or anything in that camp, you will love this record. Patti is an inspiration to me in what it means to mine the harder things for truth, and not give up until you get it.

Embracing Your FreedomEmbracing Your Freedom by Susie Larson

I was honored to write the forward for this book that teaches on spiritual freedom using the stories of those who have sought or are seeking literal freedom. Susie is an incredible communicator, and is never short on passion. She and her husband Kevin are co-chairs with Troy and I for our local IJM benefit in the Twin Cities, and she is always a great inspiration to me!

The Book Of GodThe Book Of God by Walter Wangerin

I am working through this novelization of the bible with my girlfriends, and it has been so rich! I love the bible, and think that I have a good handle on the events, but the novelization of it brings things to light that I have just read over in the past. On many occasions I have read something and have thought, "Is that really in there?" Upon closer inspection, it is! It is not historical fiction, and it is not a paraphrase. Wangerin stays VERY close to the original, but creatively so, making this a perfect book for someone new to the bible, and especially the Old Testament.
